In this report, we present the outcome and evaluation of the Protocol Council’s review of ELIP-016: Redistribution Delay, and ELIP-017: Duration Vault Fixes.

ELIP-016: Redistribution Delay

Summary of Feedback

  • General Support:

All reviewers generally support the proposal, viewing it as an improvement to EigenLayer security in light of recent high profile security incidents. Members believe that the scope is appropriately small and implemented in a comprehensive manner to reduce complexity.

  • Audit:

Certora conducted a security assessment; all identified issues were addressed.

  • Ecosystem Impact:

    • AVSs currently using Redistribution may need modifications to accommodate the delay.

Overall Verdict: Approved

ELIP-017: Duration Vault Fixes

Summary of Feedback

  • General Support:

Protocol Council feedback on ELIP-017 is broadly positive and supportive. Reviewers agree that the proposal is appropriately scoped to resolve an acknowledged oversight in the original deployment of duration vaults. While this leaves the feature with no proactive token-level denylist, the council finds this appropriate for the permissionless nature of EigenLayer.

  • Audit

Certora conducted a security assessment; All findings were addressed.

  • Security:

Lack of proactive token-level denylist is noted and intentional.

  • Ecosystem Impact:

Expected to improve the usability of Duration Vaults by allowing their creation for LST tokens.

Overall Verdict: Approved
